Some of the pieces had some wear to them out of the box, this is due to the fact that the pieces just come loose in a box. They are moving around in there, scraping up against each other, bouncing around, getting dinged up, just a few sheets of padding doing hardly anything.
Putting them together is reasonably easy, though I would recommend using your own tools if you have them. It's just a lot easier to put together this amount of furniture (reminder you're building 2 of these things) with a nice ratcheting screwdriver or something. I don't believe it included a screwdriver either, so you'll need one of those. Power-tool is probably overkill, though.
Once they are put together, they are very sturdy thanks to the metal frames that everything bolts to. The drawer system, however, is pretty cheap by comparison. It's just plastic on plastic, no wheel and track. I can see this wearing out over time, and I've already seen some wear to the lip of the drawer where the drawer itself rubs up against the housing that it's in.
The vinyl covering on the wood scratches EXTREMELY easily, so be very careful while you build it that you don't rub the pieces against each other, you might end up with some new gouges that did not originate in the shipping. But, ultimately, this price for TWO night stands is extremely affordable and is certainly worth it for decent rigidity in build quality and decent aesthetics.
Pretty easy to put together. Sturdy and exactly what I was looking for. I love the lift top and how you can close it when you want or need to. Lots of room for whatever you need

Exactly as described and very sturdy! Thought it would be cheap material since the price was a little low but I'm so glad I bought them! Way better than anticipated. Would buy again.
